The larger screen is listed as an option again on the builder....that's some progress...what are kind of delay are they saying it adds to the timeline currently?

My larger screen has supposedly added at least two months from my order that was placed in the 2021 1st quarter....with how many other options backordered and possibly also caused delay I am not sure it would have mattered if I selected the smaller screen just to expediate delivery.

It might be model or region specific. I just went through a '22 Base S North America build and it wasn't offered as an option.

Good catch. Looks like its X Dynamic HSE trim and higher that provide the option in the builder. (On the USA site)

LR has said that they are prioritizing the more profitable vehicles, so it makes sense they would push popular items such as the larger screen into the more expensive trims, at least for the time being.

I imagine 11.4 inches gets more girls, though 10 inches is certainly ample.

I just got my '22MY 110 w/ the smaller screen, and I haven't noticed the lag that I did when I test drove a '20. I wonder if they updated the processor on the smaller version as well.

I actually ordered an Se here in Australia with the smaller screen (because I prefer how it looks), but the dealer suggested I switch to the larger screen because it reduced the wait time by three months. So now I’m getting the 11.4” screen. I’m a bit baffled why it would be quicker, but perhaps it is due to the fact that they are prioritising small screens in the base and S models, and so adding it to the SE means waiting? Having said that, they also suggested replacing the micro suede (my preferred seating) with the leather for the same reason. Maybe that was what created the delay…

Or maybe they had a vehicle in the build queue already, and that was why…

If it is plug and play that's good to know so I can add it in the future. For now this is good enough.

Yes it is. Just because the bigger screen breaks the continuity of the lines of the cross car beam doesn’t mean that it’s bad, it only means that the design has a different characteristic. Overlapping is a valid and flattering design as long as the overlapping is done with proper proportion and scale, in this case, i think JLR designers did a great job accomplishing that.

I have a lot of "overlapping in my current design". As I age, I'm kinda okay with that...
