Hi guys. Is it just me or has the option for the 11.4in screen been removed? And if so why would they do
that?

The 11.4 inch screen is presently not available on the LR (USA, in my case) website build configuration. Other posts here and elsewhere suggest that the larger screens are not presently readily available in the LR supply chain. Other threads have also suggested that it might be possible (not guaranteed, by any means) to add the larger screen back into a build post order and pre delivery.

 

The screens / devices are (were ? ) made by LG, for all the new Defender series. Not sure if this has anything to do with the following: https://www.tomsguide.com/news/rip-l...obile-business
Could be (a) LG is winding down this , or (b) they are retooling , re-shuffling, or restructuring their approach.
Who knows ...

 

LG are still in the business of making automotive LED displays and HUDs etc. It's the consumer smartphones business they are getting out of. No money in it for them. It make actually benefit the automative industry (one day).

 

My guess is they are saving them all for Discovery builds because that's standard on them now. Have one on the new '22 ordered back in the spring I just picked up. Though my dealer said JLR has cut back drastically on how many units they can order per month and that's probably one of the reasons, camera system parts too are in short supply I hear.

It's back.

 

I just tried to add the 11.4” touchscreen to a saved “S” build, and could not find it. It may have gone unavailable again? If I remember correctly, the touchscreen option is located under Options/Infotainment in the LR Build Configurator.

 

Under INTERIOR then DISPLAY.

Fwiw, this is on their mobile site and it's an HSE X-Dynamic. It also shows up under the XS.

Have not checked desktop site or other configurations.

 

I have the 11 inch screen on my 2022 110 XS. It was built on 4/27/21.
