The 130
Adding the 130 opens up the possibility of a pickup even though I think it won't happen. I have gone back and forth on getting a 130 when it becomes available or keeping my 110. My wife and I were talking about the amount of stuff it takes to haul around 1 toddler and a new baby, 2 dogs, and our luggage. The issue is it's just a short period of time that you need the extra space. I love my 110 but having extra space is great.
Totally agree. We need to replace our LR4 and I was just thinking a D5 would be perfect. Has more space than our 110, and had some nice upgrades (infotainment, engine, front design, more AC vents, etc.) from the first D5. Now if they can just center that rear license plate holder.
The 130 is ugly though. Tool long. The 110 is perfect looking in size and stature, it's just that JLR was asleep when they designed the cargo area. I swear the designers and engineers at JLR have to be people who have never owned a Land Rover until recently and have no knowledge or true spirit of the Land Rover heritage that many of us here share. I guess they thought the only thing going in the back of them were going to be groceries.
I still believe the only reason they are making the 130 is to shuttle around the Royal Family and their luggage. Prince William was like "hey Land Rover, I can't fit my H&H gun case in the back of my 110!"

Oh… you meant cachet.
Not by any means. Tahoe/Escalade/Expedition/Navigator and the new Wagoneer are all significantly larger. Never mind the Suburban. There is absolutely a market for something larger in the cargo area than the 110. I am curious if JLR keeps the 3rd row as-is or uses the extra room to make it more accommodating to passengers. I would suspect the former but it would be interesting to see an arrangement like the new Acura MDX that gives you the option of second row captain's chairs that give walk thru access to the 3rd row. That might be quite useful to families. Give up one seat to gain much better access to the back row.
I just can't get past that huge overhang. Throws the proportions totally out of whack in my opinion. I think the same thing about the Grand Cherokee L vs the standard. The defender just has perfect dimensions right now with the 110 especially.
