Turns out LR reduced the roof slots on 130 v8 as the suspensions was not tuned for handle accessories.


I proceed to modify the slot plates by having them machined smaller to fit the roof slots.

I wonder if standard roof rails have the same mounting bolts and you could swap them for non V8 versions.

 

Machining the mounts down was just a $50 expense, much cheaper that a set of rails and no additional labor.

My gaol is to warn a few others, as I was caught a bit off guard by this. I fell in love with the car, never thinking roof accessories were going to be a issue.
