were those the ones with Kevlar that you lost to rocks?! I have read the OEMs are soft; but aftermarket you can go with the Adventures with Kevlar, or the Duratrac. Did you try either of those?
The second flat from rocks driven into the tread was a 10-ply tire. They are soft, period.
Didn't try Duratracs but hear good things. They are the polar opposite of the OEM Wrangler "Adventure". Not heavy off roader, so the Falken Wildpeaks are fabulous!
Quiet, sure footed, better traction and handling. The OG "offroad" 19" tires are ****... Driving all the time on gravel eats them down quiclly: at 20,009 miles i had two fronts with 3/32 & 5/32. Things start slipping and sliding around with that little tread. I'm on gloss black 6011 - the pretty six spoke rim.
I hope the KO3 tires will be better, but I am very happy with Wildpeak 255/60HR19 tires!

I called GY - the Adventure All Terrains with Kevlar do come in a 10 ply in their LT (not P) & are rated for heavier loads. The ones on Defender are P rated and seem 4 ply. I gathered that weather you go to an independent shop or a JLR dealer, it's the same: you get the P tire at a 114 load, but it's XL, so it's better than many. The LT All Terrain seemed available for a wider tire size (I asked about the 255s on 20" rim and 18" rim, and it was a no). N.B., the expected KO3 on 255/65/19s will be LT (not P). the tire looks like it's another 14 lbs of weight over the GY Adventures, and the load index is a bit higher at 116. I think the GY with Kevlar seem pretty good overall, and I'll let folks know when my new 110 gets delivered

I am set to light load and 34/38# front/rear was done day one. For the most part, if you dont do much offroad (and stay off gravel roads) the OEM tire suffices for most people. I.have one of the 10-ply tires aa my spare, since I got four Falken tires at one time. They're for an emergency.
I don't really understand why different tires make a whit of difference as far as road noise in the cabin, but they do. I bitched early on about how much got in at 60mph, but now 75 is quiet.
I got a replacement Goodyear All Terrain tire a couple of months ago. It looks exactly the same as the original tires even though it was advertised "with Kevlar".
Has anyone got the Kevlar tires and do they look like this photo from the Goodyear web site?
I think I got sold an original...

They do not. They look like the OG tire with "with Kevlar" on the sidewall. My 19" were 10 ply as opposed to factory 6 ply. They are still soft and i kept one of them as a spare when I switched to Falken Wildpeak tires last month. One the 10 ply tires got popped by a single cylindrical rock in the center of the tread, driving on the gravel part of NC-197 near Barnardsville NE of Asheville. At 19,000 miles - living above a 4.2 mile gravel road to the ridgetop the front pair (which were the only original tires) had 3/32 and 5/32 tread left. Def time to slip & slide - or replace the tires before they're bald.
The fine print in the sidewall details 10 plys vice 6 and count of each type, polyamid, steel, etc
