Wow, you can tell how? X-Ray glasses? You’ve already seen it?
or, you must be talking about the DC100. In which I totally agree.

I bet they destroy the old Defenders all day long out on the trail. People have a hard time with change, but I'm sorry, you cannot stay in business throwing out the same vehicles from 1975.

Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen (Geländewagen) has remained the same essentially the entire time it has been around. The new one looks the same as the old one but Mercedes updated the cab and made very necessary changes. See Doug DeMuro's review of the new one, he says it right. If LR would do to the Defender what Mercedes has done with the G-Wagen it would be a home run. But....they probably will not.

I suppose, however, having worked selling Mercedes Benz vehicles, I can tell you this, the new G-Wagon isn't wuite what the old one is as far as off road capibility goes.
I mean I agree, keeping closer to the older aesthetic, I'd likely be happier with, I just can't help but think it would be cool to have a Defender that was just off ther charts capable off road....

Thing is, the days of vehicles that break very little are done, there is no money in a ca or truck that doesnt require service.

VW T-Rug
I already knew DC100 but didn't notice until now one thing: interesting to see that VW used exactly one of those 2011 DC100 rendering background photos, when presenting their rendering of T-Rug, a kind of EV-Defender planned for 2022 (MEB-based, SWB and LWB versions planned)....
