2021 Defender factory order timeline reporting
I got a dealer allocation for a 110SE that I was able to customize. It's at the dealer waiting for me (not local, so I won't get it for a few more days):
Last change: 6/16 (coincidentally, the day I finalized the order)
Build date: 7/16
Delivery scheduled: 9/3 - actual - 8/27

The sales manager at my dealership tells me my Defender 90X order will be submitted to LR on 9/9.
How long after the order submission/acceptance does it take to receive the other key dates in the process?

Did you dealer provide all the dates or were you able to obtain the dates online yourself ...and if so how
I asked my sales rep to keep me updated when key dates were being disclosed. When the order was confirmed, when the build date and delivery date was established etc. Its possible he was slow in letting me know as well. I have been waiting since early February so I think hes tired of me tbh.
The system the dealer has is called vista. They access the status that way. It seems not all sales people have direct access to vista. Mine seemed to say it was a challenge to get the information (Im guessing because he had to hassle the ordering manager for the printouts). There is also a status page that shows more detailed information like the name of the cargo ship once its in transport (my sales rep was not aware of this until I showed up a screen shot someone else on this forum posted).

I am trying to order a Bronco as well as getting the Defender... I also think my ford salesman is getting tired of dealing with buyers looking for updates... I put my deposit down for the Defender in very early July and I have tried to not bug the LR salesman too much. That said I dont think looking for info and important updates is asking for all that much in terms of customer service on a close to $100k vehicle.

My sales rep typically took 1-2 days to get back to me (either text or email). I think in the past month or so the dealership has slowed down as I am getting same day responses. In fact I just emailed him this morning because the ship my defender is on just hit port and he replied within the hour.
I would say that my original order was a my21 HSE. There was a few weeks were it was getting converted to a my22 and I wanted to change to the new XS model. My sales rep didnt react very quickly about it. I felt like I wanted to be pushy but gave the guy space to not come off as some crazy person and it ended up costing me as my sales rep thought we could just revise the previous order to an XS model but we had to create a new one that added 2-3 months to the order frame. It seems like my sales rep has been working there a while but I guess this was a first for him. Its not the biggest deal for me except that I missed out on the summer camping experience with the defender. We still camping of course but the idea of doing it with the new defender was appealing.
