2021 Defender factory order timeline reporting

My order got converted to a 2022. My sales rep has been pretty slow on communication since the 22 info was released on 2/25. He mentioned that there were minor changes for the 22 builds and would be sending me over the new pricing sheet to sign.
have been debating on shifting models. I had been going back and forth for a while between the overall utilitarian vibe of the S model with the steelies or more plush version of the HSE that I ultimately ordered. With the increase in price (about 2k) from the 21 to 22 models it got me thinking if I was simply paying too much money relative to what really had always interested me in the defender line in the first place. I also was debating the XS model because of if my fancy tastes were ultimately going to win out again the XS seemed like a better value overall.
I was waiting for a reply on a bunch of questions and my sales rep let me know that the delivery date is 7/24/21. He then mentioned that if I wanted to make a major shift in model it would have to be asap. Unfortunately he still has not answered my questions. Kinda a bummer being that the 2022 configurator for the US site is not live and I cant see what the XS models would look like.
I sit and wait every day for news to try to and find information to make a decision without JLR either updating their site or my sales rep having the time to answer the questions and then its hurry up and make a decision heh. My sales rep didnt even seem to know what the XS model was. He answered my questions but thought i was talking about the X dynamic SE....JLR and their model naming does seem pretty confusing so I dont really blame him.

Be interesting to see if they do the changed seats I'm seeing reported elsewhere to help with the water staining.

What was your order date? Mine was 1/18 and latest I heard was car should be on "Built" status on 3/26, no mention of order being converted, so hopefully that won't happen. Agree that this whole transition has been a bit confusing. Thankfully my CA has proven to be extremely responsive and fairly knowledgeable. As you said it is not a marginal amount of money we are spending on these (even for the cheaper model), so definitely make sure you get what you want even if it takes a bit more time to get the car.
My sales rep has not informed me of any changes to the 22 builds....the larger screen is important to me...the lack of air suspension being standard is a pretty big change imo....no mention of that...I dont know if hes just super busy or what but I have a hard time understanding of how I can get locked into a build where I have not been told what is exactly changing, especially when some of the components are now optional (like air suspension).
Some of the small nuances, like leather quality in the HSE, were driving some of my decisions on how much I was really going to spend. It would probably serve me better to have had the defender established while being able to see each quality I am concerned about on the lot, vs having to make guesses on material type and value of new models (colors, combinations etc) that we cant see yet.

I stopped into my local dealership this morning to work on some of the details regarding changing my build. Here are my figures
Last Amendment Possible : 4/7/21
Build Date : 5/7
Delivery date : 7/23
Handover Date : 7/24
My sales rep said if I plan to drop down to a p300 I need to do it asap, as they have found JLR does not always allow it prior to the last amendment date.
