2022 Defender - Electrical Issue
My ‘22 HSE left me stranded at Costco today. I went to start it after being in the store for a bit and I got the warning “Engine Temperature Indication Fault Detected”. To top it off the engine cooling fan started running and wouldn’t turn off until it completely drained the battery. Called LR roadside assistance who sent the wrong tow type of tow truck. So, after wasting 3 hours I told them I would go home and send another tow truck later tonight once the parking lot was empty. To top it off if the battery is dead you can only lock the drivers door - there is no way to lock the other 3 doors. Even had someone from the dealer come out to see if they could figure it out.
Has anyone got a warning message like that before? The adviser said it was likely a sensor and depending on which one it could be hard to get . The dealer only has limited loaner cars due to the car shortage - are they required to provide a loaner? My fear I could be without it for awhile and don’t want to have to be stuck paying for a rental.
