Default Systems failure

What I though was a battery / charging system issue has turned out to be a bigger issue.

The system displayed errors for almost all systems Friday night. Transmission fault then gearbox fault was where I drew the line and got it towed.

the dealer is now waiting to hear back from LR tech support on how to fix the issues. Modules not communicating or such.

Our small dealership has very little experience with the Defenders so I’m happy they reached out for answers.

2021 Range Rover sport diesel isn’t such a bad loaner car while I wait for my beast to return.

Well that sucks! I hope they get it sorted out quickly, but they have a solid loaner for you.

My local dealer has delivered about 45 new Defenders. Whenever I get a chance to look in the service bays of the dealership, I see a new Defender almost every time. But there are also 5 or so RRs , a few RR Sports and a couple of LR4s along with the Velar and Evoques... I stopped in one day, and they had 7 Defenders in the service bays... more than half were new getting all the prep done for delivery.

Let us know what they do to resolve the issues.

Just got my defender back from the dealer. One loose ground stud caused all the havoc. Crazy that such a small thing can cause such a huge issue.
Thankful the dealer got directed to the exact location of the issue by LR Tech. This would have taken a while to track down.

That is great news! Glad it is back in your hands and it was an easy fix.

Glad it was a simple fix. Crazy how all the systems are tied together. Never good when you see the "Christmas tree of death" on the dashboard with all the warnings lit and one system failure message after another. On LR3's a $30 brake pedal switch would cause this. On LR4's it's when the alternator goes out.
