Angry 2022 Defender Gearbox Fault Detected

Got my 2022 Defender 110 X-Dynamic 3 weeks ago. Was pulling out of my neighborhood and lost control of steering, breaks and shifting. Error "Gearbox Fault Detected" showed. Once the car came to a rolling stop I was able to turn it off, turn it back on and get it out of the street. Error still showed and I couldn't go more than a few MPH's.

After the car was towed to Land Rover, they said the error was not there and the car was fine. They suggested a possible "software update" was needed.

Anyone have issues like this? I love the car, but I cannot drive it if this is going to happen! I could have crashed, ran in to someone or much worse.

Sucks. You and hundreds of others out there can party together and talk about Defender problems. There is a thread somewhere in the Defender section that is Defender problems only. Post there and maybe someone can chime in and help out. Sorry. The Defenders are junk. I hope yours gets sorted out.

Most vehicles are junk if you read the forums, because that's where people post faults and issues.
You don't hear about the ones like mine that have had no issues at all!

I call BS on the dealerships response to you. All errors are stored and can be retrieved including the metadata (simply everything that was happening at the time). It would be easy for the service tech to pull the codes and determine what happend.

OK, since this year old thread has found a new life, what was the final outcome with the OP? I’m assuming we’ll never know considering it’s his one and only post.

Irritating when people post once to bitch about something and leave….very troll-ish behavior.

My bad - didn't look at the OP date. Agree with you also on the lack of followup

I wasn’t pointing fingers at you brother, it’s all good 🤙🤙

I was genuinely curious what the outcome was, until I saw the OPs post count of 1.

the amount of troll and stuff that doesn't pass the sniff test in those old posts is pretty epic.

nice necro-post! lol, hate it when that happens. The last time I did one was because I scrolled down to the bottom and it started another 'relevant' thread that was 10 years old heh.

This thread resurrection is probably my fault, as l came across it when looking for L663 gearbox issues.
I never looked at the date of the O/P's post.

But l agree there are many people who come on to a forum, post once (usually a complaint about the vehicle) then disappear never to return.

On the Honda forum a lot of these posts were from Yamaha owners
