I guess I will find out soon what's true.
Let us know whether it comes as expected :-)

I'll chip in my info since I've been lurking for a few months but not posting.
Went through a dealer here in CT that I have an established relationship with and configured an incoming Defender 110S in May 2021. Was built 8/13 and took delivery last Friday 9/10.
110S with air suspension, clearsight, tow receiver, upgraded headlights + foglights. It came with digital dash. No larger screen (couldn't upgrade already when configuring). Ordered activity key with it and it came.
Paid MSRP, no dealer markup or requirement to purchase extras. Financed with a great rate as well after doing some rate shopping locally and dealer got their bank to match.

So everything showed up as ordered including the activity key. I spoke with one of the guys in the parts department before leaving as I was buying a set of cross bars and he said that they have been trying to catch up on everything and after several months just caught up on the back log of tow hitches. He surmised that new builds in the factory were being allocated parts first (my defender came with the tow package). I told him that my defender came with the activity key and he was shocked as he said they are backlogged for months on it, so it seems like the options are being prioritized for the newer builds.

The defender is more impressive in person then in photos. Fortunately it fit in the garage without issue (which was a little concern is the height is low). Now the fun begins as I am going to install tow hooks, mud flaps, and air compressor myself. Hopefully some pff will be installed in a few weeks.

One thing of note. The dealership had virtually no vehicles. It was like an empty parking lot. What vehicles they did have were spaced out far apart. It was odd looking as last time I was there back in March they had a pretty full lot. Their show room was full and they are now holding four defenders as demos. My sales rep said they are estimating 8 months for orders now.

Great to know and congrats. I haven’t ordered an activity key myself, but I have always wondered why they don’t create an app on the Apple Watch. It would be an alternative for people who don’t want to wear something else on their wrist. Maybe it’s because they can’t charge for it…

The dealer lots are all looking pretty sad at the moment. Alpine here in Australia have been waiting over 8 months for a delivery of cars…just a single demo model sitting in the dealership.

OK, seems like I’m speaking out of my…

Does this work on Defenders, and do you need the InControl Premium account? If not, then my prayer has been answered. :-)

Thanks!

I've seen it working on Defenders on the YouTubes but, unfortunately, that's where my story ends.

Interesting. Can you use iControl to lock your keys in the Defender? If so, might work as an activity key. Does the iControl need wireless access? If so, that could be problematic (for me) off the grid/away from cell coverage.

Good news. I got my Defender on 9/11 about 2 weeks later than originally scheduled (ordered in March). If you remember my post in this thread I was very concerned about issues with the vehicle. In the TOPIX the vehicle with this VIN was showing many issues, including 'doors difficult to open', 'sunroof stuck', 'audio distortion', etc. So when it arrived I was searching for problems. Have not found any. I am not sure what I was reading in the TOPIX. The car is perfect everything works flawlessly so far. Did not get the Activity Key, it supposed to come later.
