I have driven the RRS P400e. Initially the 100% charged car said 28 km to go on electricity and that seemed to be true.Originally Posted by BBS
Have you driven a hybrid RR or RRS? The hybrid system is still too unrefined. The current P400 setup has lots of grunt, and moves the Defender quite nicely. I would wait to see if they double the battery size at least as BMW did in the X5. Otherwise, you'll get maybe 10 miles on electric... if lucky!
Drive was very nice and smooth.
I have been searching Youtube and forums for experience using the P400e system.
Seems to me, after initial problems, it is running quite well now.
This is the fourth year itīs being used in various JLR products.
Would be nice if someone can chime in on this topic, the reliability especially, powering these heavy cars.
Now the RRS has a 13 kwh battery.
The Defender will have 19.1 kwh battery - so almost 50% more energy than the RRS.
The BMW X5e has a 24 kwh battery and is by far the best in this class.

I have a 2020 Range Rover PHEV that I am going to sell now that I have the Defender. The engine did not really deliver as promised as it was originally going to be a 50 mile range but when it arrived it barely gets 20 miles before the battery runs out. Then you are basically left with a V6 Range Rover which sounds nothing and accelerates nothing like my 2020 Defender. I think LR did the PHEV basically so a lot of owners in Europe can drive their cars into the center of cities that are starting to ban diesels and non hybrid engines (my opinion only!).

I've been looking for pics of the Defender with the P400e, so far only found this page. Looking for the hump of course. Originally Posted by The_hog

If this page is to be believed (there is a tiny picture of the cargo area) this would be the first LR to not have the battery bulge.Winching

LR is advertising the RR electric engine at 19 miles. 50 miles seems very high relative to how every other PHEV is performing (especially for a a large vehicle).Originally Posted by Car007

I put a deposit down on a 2021 Defender 110 in mid-January. The dealer has not had allocation to submit orders since then.
Dealer confirmed today that no more 2021 orders will be accepted by the factory.
They do not know when they will be able to submit 2022 orders. The sales manager suspects at least a month until they can order (mid-March) and 3-4 months for delivery once placed.

Is the timeline you are quoting for ordering based on the that dealerships allocation?Originally Posted by boch

and, now that I look more closely at that picture, it only references the diesels. so I think it's safe to say it's not applicable to the P400e.
