Default 2022 Defender P400 – fast clacking/rattle only on cold start

On cold start only (after overnight), I get a very fast clacking / knocking / rattling sound for about 5–10 seconds, then it completely disappears and never comes back when warm.

Oil has been changed, level correct.

No warning lights, no noise when warm or driving.

Video attached for reference.
took it to a shop but they have no idea

Has anyone experienced this on the P400 / Ingenium I6?

My bad, couldn't get the video to play on my phone. Totally not normal. The "normal" knocking noise is more like a brief higher pitched tapping sound.

I was thinking the same thing.

I fear this is becoming a more frequently reported issue on the forums. Or at least the noise is. So hard to get to the bolts to see them.

Really don’t think it’s normal, I’ve had the car since new and it only started doing this now. The car has 28k miles.

Not able to take it to dealer yet but something has to be wrong.

Ask the audience - not normal.
Phone a friend - not normal
50/50 - not normal

I think you know the answer before you even asked the question
