I posted a thread not long ago about the cold start noise also and I can definetly tell this is not the same noise that Im experiencing. Let us know what you find.

Update:

Had it diagnosed by an LR specialist. Oil pressure and wiring checked out fine, but they traced it to a mechanical issue in the valve lift / CVVT system. Fault code was P3498-71. They are recommending replacement of the valve lift unit (LR172833)

part is out of stock so have to wait 10 days, really hoping this fixes the issue.

 

Curious can it be heard inside the car with the windows up and hood down? I had a F150 that had a similar issue. They traced to the cam phasers. Don't know if thats similar.

 

Gonna get them to check the exhaust manifold bolts before ordering any parts, they might have missed it.
Will report back once I know

 

Curious what the end diagnosis was - did you have broken exhaust manifold bolts too ?
