I just attended the massive Overland Expo Mountain west in Colorado over the weekend and saw tons of amazing vehicles and cool gear/accessories. There was a strong showing from Jeep, Ford (Broncos), Toyotas and Nissan. Even cameos from Rivian, EV Hummer and the amazing Ineos Grenadier (which gave me a bit of buyers remorse with my beloved '22 D90 purchase because the Grenadier was so fricken cool!) Where was Land Rover??? There were a couple of old Defenders (ROW) displaying other companies products, but Land Rover was completely absent. Land Rover has always been a player in this space, but I guess those days are gone. Could be just a supply thing, but I was hoping to see some examples of our new Defenders on display showing what a capable Overlander it can be. Disappointing...

Well on the bright side I learned that there is Overland Expo! Will def try to attend next year with my ‘23 Defender so at least LR has some representation (even if just in the parking lot).

Great to know. I’ma make a point of trying to go next year. I was just in CO on a road trip to the San Juans and then Denver in my 110 in mid-August. I think I’ll plan to repeat that next year at the appropriate time for this expo. Sounds like a blast.

And then the following year hopefully I can drive out in my Grenadier! If they ever actually launch those and fill my order.

 

I have been at the last 2 Expo East events and LR had a very sad presensce at only one of them 2 years ago. I believe it was just a hired press team and a local dealership was supposed to bring vehicles. The dealer didnt show up. Needless to say, the event is incredible. I suggested to Justin at LK8 that he should get a spot there this year since we had such a great response from our display last year. So this year we will have a display and LK8 will also. We will be located next to each other and will have at a large new defender presence. I communicated with the coordinator of the event to try to reach out to JLR and gave some contacts including dealers in VA. Hopefully they will also display. And i did get confirmation that Ineos will be at Expo east also. It looks to be an amazing event this year. Will be a blast with the sold out ROAV Mid Atlantic Rally just the weekend beforehand. Looks to be a busy weekend in VA!
