Default 2023 Defender - Rear Locker

I've read somewhere that all Defenders have a rear locker thats controlled by electronics and on some other forums that its an option only available from the factory. Can anyone clarify how to tell if you have a rear locker or not. In my case I don't have Terrain Response 2 but I think thats electric.

Thanks Scott

When you view your off road view on your Pivi where it shows you your four wheels, etc take note that all Defenders will show a “lock” or “unlocked” padlock for your center diff. If it shows one for your rear then you have a rear locker, otherwise you do not. Is it not shown on your build/window sticker? Off road pack…advanced off road, etc.

that makes sense. I thought that that was the addition of Terrain Response 2. Of well……. Can I add it via landrover service?

Perhaps but I can imagine it wouldn’t pencil out financially. I can imagine in the not too distant future there will be aftermarket solutions. I recall reading from Sarek or another industry expert that there was a solution. In fact one reason to consider it would be the stock shafts are unequal in length and IIRC the aftermarket solution addressed that. Could I recommend that you try your truck as is? Its capabilities stock are quite surprising…

Absolutely - I have no choice and getting stuck is just part of the adventure

Sarek Autowerke has developed an air locker for Defenders without the factory version. Ralf is on this forum.
