Unconfirmed, but SE variants and below could potentially lose Meridian sound system...

Our SE Made in August and received in October had Meridian, had sunglasses holder, did not have USB in passenger or rear console, I bought the parts and added them as the wiring was there for two. Still don't have what would have been 12v as I didn't have the splitter.

I think JLR is cheapening out.
Can you retrofit the interactive driver display? That must be involving... Anyway, I completely agree...70k+ should get you all the stuff you configured as opposed to "surprises" when collecting the car.

Me too- built in August but no sunglass holder. Dealer said Meridian for future builds might dissappear.
Often things dissappear or reappear and the dealers have absolutely no knowledge of changes until the cars arrive.

@The Insider - good write up, but some how I ain't buying this. Why ? Well, if JLR really wants to free up assembly line, the soft close ain't it. The door comes assembled with the actuator and electrics from a different station. Does not take a long time to have that fitted. How about making the sun roofs optional again ? Now, I am forced to get a sun roof, even if I don't want one. But ... the price for that is 5x the price of the soft close.
That is why I am not convinced with the "free the line" excuse.
In my opinion all this trickery will disappear when Ineos will be available on the market. Till then, enjoy the Tata mantra while you can.

See, here's the thing....
When you order a vehicle and click off boxes, you expect that vehicle to come with those features, especially if they are standard features.
The manufacturer delivers, the dealership facilitates and services the sale and you pay an agreed upon price.
I have a problem with standard features being omitted because what would your dealer say if your vehicle costs 80k and you give them 77k?
They would blow a gasket, no pun intended. lol

LR removed way more content than this AND raised the prices. Most of the content removal was done without notifying the customer. The only thing I was informed of when ordering my MY23 was that the pivi screen would be smaller.

No other manufacturer has approached these supply chain challenges in this way. It is truly a mind blowing approach to customer engagement

95% is communication and transparency. Meeting what customers expect and think they’re getting. Also, simple thing, just update the site / options too. Things happen, but at this price point buyers expect more.

Can confirm my first edition d130 is missing sunglasses holder, power ports for all passengers and no soft close (if that's even a thing in the 130s). It only has the 3 ports on the center dash. The passenger front port, all 4 second row and both 3rd row ports have blank off plates. There is a 12v port in the cargo area at least. It does have the big screen and all of the other fun stuff, but it's really odd they're skimping on USB ports and a sunglasses holder, those have to be like $30 (at their cost) worth of stuff... I'd rather have those than the fancy walnut wood and extended leather.
