2024 110 Defender P400
Hi everyone! This is my 4th LR/2nd Defender. The last had no airbags.
I won’t be waiting 10-20k miles for oil changes on a turbocharged engine and took my 2024 defender p400 into the Reno nv dealership where it was purchased with cash this past summer. I’m coming up on 7k miles and only wanted an oil service and for them to fix a small rattle in the drivers window when it’s down a few inches.
They went ahead and performed the TWENTY ONE THOUSAND mile service, which is a bit more than $1k. I asked “what happens in 14k miles?” Some of the things included in this service were too soon, even for me.
This service includes a bunch of things and
1. When buying it I was assured that loaners were a given. Nope. Not a chance, the way they delegate loaners is the most archaic, stupid thing I’ve ever heard. It’d be better if they just truthfully said “no, you don’t get a loaner unless someone really likes you or you’ve purchased a fleet”
2. They didn’t repair the rattle.
3. They didn’t perform the brake flush which is part of this service.
4. A Bluetooth issue is now more intense - the wrong direction. This truck just won’t let go of my phone’s media when I turn it off, exit it and even lock it.
I killed the Bluetooth on my phone last night and the truck was STILL PLAYING MEDIA.
5. This morning the sunroof was open and wouldn’t close at 24 degrees F. Never had an issue with it. The dealer screwed up something that worked flawlessly…what is happening???
6. They were to replace the cabin air filter and the key fobs - neither were done.
When I looked up this service, prior to the bs getting another car home and getting back to the dealer he said that “I was correct and he’d have them quickly perform the brake flush “on them”…
I don’t think they even changed the oil at this point, I don’t believe they flushed the brake lines lickity-split like that. When my other vehicles have that done it’s sort of a big deal.
I love this truck more than I’ve loved any car I’ve ever owned or even driven but now what the hell do I do…? I bought a 100k mile/10-year warranty upgrade. I’m stuck with the %#!? Dealerships for a decade. Should I not have paid cash? Do they see me as impotent since “what am I going to do?”
I don’t know what to do.
I hope all of you are happy and healthy.
