Default 2025 110 soft close not working or fob tailgate release button

Hi all just purchased a 2025 110 P500, I was pretty sure that for 2025 it was a stock option to have soft close on the tail gate. Is this not the case?

Waiting on dealer’s response but just wanted some background on this.

Thanks

Our 2021 P400 has a soft close tailgate, but our 2023 did not and our new 2025 P400 does not either. With the swing weight of the spare tire, I can barely tell the difference when closing either tailgate.

I think if you press the key fob lock button twice, it deactivates the tailgate release button on the key fob. Then you need to press the unlock button twice to unlock the tailgate. This may also be something you can change in one of the screen menus.

OK, thanks so much for the info. I’m gonna give that a shot with the key fob. At least that will work maybe one day I’ll do a retrofit and aftermarket soft close. Honestly I just feel like I’m closing my old jeep door and it bothers me lol

Pretty sure they got rid of soft close on the tailgate a few years back. Ie no soft close on 2025's.

It's not a big loss. I wouldn't worry about it. My 2020 has it, but it's not a big thing. It's nice every now and then, but not a big "boon" in functionality, at all. If anything the tire weight closes the door itself anyways.

Yes you’re right the tire weight certainly helps. I solved my gravity issue and now back her in on my sloped driveway

So far amazing overall experience!

On the powerful uk review of the OCTA Simon said it was on it. I assumed it applied to all 2025’s. When I got my activations a fob unlock/release/open was an option (note, not soft close). It was not recommended because based on the car’s slope, the door can “take-off”.

I thought it would’ve been safety related why they took that activation off the key fob. Having a stronger hydraulic piston could solve that I suppose

A 110 P500 literally doesn’t exist. A 130 P500 exists, and a 110 P425 and P525 exists.

Yup P500 110 is what I ordered. Most don’t know this loop hole to get a p500 in the 110, sleek easy to miss option and save some $ too. They actually just detuned the p525 engine. So just like Porsche, and quick remap and you can get to full capacity, just won’t have the big calipers to stop with lol
