22" Contis Tire Pressure 44F 50R
Hey all,
Door jamb on my 2023 D90 states PSI of 44 for the fronts and 50 for the rears. Seems high. Its 99% of the time just me in the Defender. Any tried and true settings for best PSI ?
Thanks

I'll change it once the tires are cold in the am. Jeez.....quite a difference in pressures for light load versus normal load.
Normal load for the 22"
Front 44 PSI
Rear 50 PSI
Light load for the 22"
Front 34 PSI
Rear 37 PSI
No worries Low. Definitely a much smoother ride on the bumpy stuff with the lower pressures.
To me, the normal load factory PSI of 44 front and 50 rear seems too high for the 22" Continental tires, especially since the sidewall rating states max PSI of 50. And the light load factory PSI of 34 front and 37 rear seems way too low for street use.
Theres got to be a nice happy medium somewhere in here.
So I just set my PSI at 34 front and 37 rear (light load) and the Defender felt lethargic, steering felt super heavy, for obvious reasons and I really didn't feel any difference in ride comfort.

I just a few minutes ago split the difference right down the middle between normal load and light load. I'm now at 39 front and 43.5 rear. I'll see how this feels and inch my way up if I don't like the results. I also thought about chalking the tread to see what the contact patch looks like, ultimately i nice even chalk wear across the lugs....

Just yankin' your chain mate. I'm no stranger to over thinking stuff.
