22 Defender X - photo day
#21
Thanks! I've got tires on the way, so in the meantime I've been enjoying some concrete offroading.
Installed the ladder today and was significantly easier than expected, mainly since the kit came with a pre-drilled trim piece which already matched the black body color.

Congrats on that beast! Very legit. Beautiful - have never checked out that model. I bought the only one Cole European had at the time.
Looks like the Altamont! I'm over in Pleasanton with much the same vehicle from a distance
(2021 Black SE)
Decide on how you will use your vehicle - suburban street machine, or occasional dirt road, or pushing to roads that need high clearance 4WD or beyond?
If no ugly terrain, then keep those tires blacked, and use them up. Unless you need them to look beefier no matter the mpg reduction.
Check out the first Sticky -- long thread about tires .. it led me to GY Wrangler Duratracs being put on this week. The Nitto Ridge Grappler/Terra Grappler are choices and BFG KO2 too.
If you get anywhere out in the wild with your vehicle, brace yourself for black car meets California dust!

Great to see some locals here!
On the offroad/onroad topic, primarily this will be used for suburban driving and the Sierra mountains (mainly snow and dirt roads). I've got some winter tires on the way but with the look of the weather so far I'm wondering if I should just stick to road tires, the area is becoming a dust bowl...

was the ladder Non oem? the oem requires drilling.

My iphone chokes on black defender pics It is literally unable to provide enough dynamic range. These were all taken with a Sony A7RIV and a 24-70 GM Lens. Been in photography for 15 years, mainly as a landscape photographer, favorite playground is the mountains - hence the need for the Defender to get in remote areas.
