Actually I like the silver rims too on a dark Defender. Maybe a future swap for me.

What are those crossbars and where did you get them and do they easily mount to our tracks?
Would you mind sharing the price?
Thule prices are per bar and I gather there are two kits you have to buy as well.
Over the years I have found crossbars to be a hassle to configure/make sure I am getting the right parts.
Seems like some roof racks are easier to install but my needs for that much space are not there yet.
But I'm hoping you say they are easy mount and compatible with some roof box if I want one

Hi Bob,
I'm using the OEM crossbars with the following attachments:
1.) Kuat Grip 4 Ski Rack.
2.) Rhino-Rack Stow-It Shovel Mount.
3.) RacknRoad here in SLC fabricated a piece so that my crossbars could stay far enough part for bindings and the roof rack would still accommodate the shorter shovel.
The MaxTracks are using the GP Factor MaxTrax spare tire mount.
Cheers
Susan

The XXL Thule box looks great. How noisy is it at highway speeds? How much do you "feel" it when driving? Bet your ladder comes in handy when loading/unloading it!

I haven’t noticed much wind noise to be honest, the box itself is quite aerodynamic. I don’t think you can actually feel it while driving either, I mean unless you’re in the middle of a windstorm or you pull into a low clearance garage The Defender is such a heavy beast that the box feels like it’s not there.
