Default 23MY Defender Ordering is Full | 23.5MY Reveal?

Hey guys, new to this forum...

I have been waiting for my P400 Defender to be ordered since early February. I received this from my dealership over the weekend (screenshot below).... Defenders MY23 is full and ordering will resume in June once the 23.5MY is revealed May 23rd. Anyone have more color on this?

That implies a mid-cycle update is coming. Hmmmm, first I am hearing about this. They have already had 4 model years (if you count the '23s in the offing), but it really has been only about two years that they have been on the roads. Seems too early.

I have a late build 2020 110 X with an in service date of 12/30/2020. So, it's been in customer hands for 16 months. Less than 1.5 years. Meanwhile we are on the 4th model year and really 4.5th model year. I still think of it as a new car. However, it's now "4 model years old". Normally 4 model years old is about to go out of warranty!

What.... a weird world we are in.

From what I know the MY stop is not a mid model refresh (23.5) but a company wide shift to producing the RR. They stopped building everything, Velar, Defender etc. My dealer has 150 orders already booked on the RR and their volume isnt even that high. The Supply chain issues are forcing them to canabilize the other models for parts etc.

Sure, pausing production is one thing. Characterizing one Defender as a '23 vs a '23.5 is another.

Valid point. But I think the reason for doing this is to step around the massive package changes. Analog dash, coil, etc. I can be wrong. But I dont think there is any other design language change coming. Except possibly the SV(R/X)
