I updated Monday I believe it was. Maybe Tuesday, then did my usual round-trip to a hospital in the adjacent county. No issues at all with adaptive cruise on that commute. I'll keep my eye on it but I had no sense that something wasn't working as expected, ymmv, maybe...

@insider The one thing that I don't see in this update --my 2020 p400 still has the problem that when start/stop is engaged, a few times a week it does not restart at an intersection. It is extremely problematic. Died on a 10 lane road turning left this past week in Anaheim CA right at the entrance to Disneyland I then start hitting the button to restart, see it's in park, power cycle, try to take it out of park, it's a bit of a nightmare. Eventually it does restart but it is not immediate and not on the first press of the start button. The volume on this issue should be pretty high as I am not the only one.

I was hoping that whatever is causing this would be addressed in this update, however it does not appear to be. Might you have any insight as to what is going on behind scenes on this problem -- scanning various Facebook boards, this board, etc, this is a somewhat widespread condition for P400 owners. I read an SSB (or whatever it is called) from LR actually acknowledging this problem and "tell customer to turn off start/stop at every vehicle start" to avoid the problem until "an update is released"

Similarly, LR issued a SSB about the erroneous AEB warning messages saying "will be addressed in future software update" and it's great to see that was, in fact, addressed on this 3.2 update.

My battery is fully charged. And was replaced already. My dealership had no suggestions other than wait or don't drive it, or make sure to turn off start/stop each time.

It was raining but not hard. Wipers were on maybe 1/2-speed.

I am not familiar with the SSB acronym, but I suspect you are referring to a Technical Service Bulletin. They come out at various stages to address a problem with both short-term and long-term fixes.

The 2020 MY owner we did have some issues with the stop start functionality, but people wrongly assume it can be a software issue alone. While there can be a software issue- there can also be wiring connection, communication issue or a faulty system module.

Have you opened a case with JLR North America? Have you visited a different retailer? If you are having this issue it is not acceptable and it should have been addressed a year ago.

I recommend that anytime you are having an ongoing issue with a vehicle that is not being resolved that you consider a different retailer (they differ greatly in their service and skills) or reach out to your local corporate office.

@nashvegas - I can't add anything with more insights than @The Insider , but I would like to share with you what I would do. First off, I would do what I really have avoided: I'd find the black wire everyone talks about going to the starter battery and I'd take it off. I've been avoiding as that seems like a band aid. I'd be tempted to do the "hack" where someone overrides the logic, but I'm under warranty and that's a "hail Mary pass" in my opinion. So #1 - take off the black wire to prevent a bad accident. THEN I would do exactly what @The Insider wrote and pester the crap out of JLR USA and the local Dealer(s) until it started working properly. I don't have the issue, but I try to remember to override it each trip and when I forget, I definitely do the first time the engine restarts.

Good luck and please keep us posted re: what worked for you and what you find out. Regrets you continue to have these issues (what the hell am I regretful for?? I'm not a Land Rover employee<g>. Ok, just regret as a fellow enthusiast...)

Thank you - for any one curious, here is the TSB about "failing to restart" after auto start/stop event indicating a software update is coming March 2022 (thank you @insider for the thoughtful reply btw

Thanks for posting that. I'll reach out to my dealer and see if they have any updates about it. My 110-X stalls when trying to restart every now and then. I've just become accustomed to disabling auto start/stop every time I drive it so I don't get rear ended when a stoplight turns green and I crap out and hold up traffic.

One issue I have (am I the only one?) that I hoped to be resolved (but wasn't) is the functioning of the "radio" mute. I would like to see the mute function turn of when you change the volume (either on the dash or on the steering wheel). If you park with the radio muted and turn off the ignition, then decide you want to listen to the radio, you can't. The dual functioning on/off mute/unmute button on the dash just acts as an on/off. You can't unmute the radio without turning the ignition back on. Surely there is a simple fix for this.

By the way, @insider, is there somewhere to lodge ideas for improvements at JLR. You mention customer feedback, but I don't know where to give it.

In terms of providing customer feedback, there are many avenues available to you. Our partners at JD Power and Strategic Vision field studies for us year round in the United States on every topic from customer service and quality to sales satisfaction and the usability of our websites. In addition to the surveys we send out we are frequently engaging our customers via email to take part in focus groups, individual interviews and even meet with members of our corporate team. Lastly, people are always welcome to call the CRC in JLR North America. They have an entire floor of people with the sole job of recording your feedback and reporting it to members of management in an attempt to resolve your issue. Sometimes customers just call to express ideas. I'm told some people still send handwritten notes and invention ideas (which we cannot accept FYI for legal reasons).

We are actually a very responsive company and sometimes leadership (including the CEO) will respond to customer problems personally. In fact, some board members recently held private focus groups with some of our new LR owners in various US cities. That said, though we frequently reach out to customers and ask for their participation in product development- we find that perhaps only 1 in 100 people will respond to our messages and calls (on a good day).

We try our best to engage customers and offer them avenues for feedback, but most JLR customers simply say "not interested" and hang up the phone. It's unfortunate because customers are frequently declining amazing opportunities.

Prior to the pandemic we would fly customers to England to participate in product development and cover all travel expenses. The world has changed though so most things are at a distance these days or over video call.

Hope this helps.
