87, 89, 91 or 93 octane on P300?
I hope that you are kidding. You can be fired for using a government charge card for personal use…even if you are paying the bill.
When I pull into the gas station, I press the far right button. In the US it's the "Premium" one. Whatever that Octane that is, is the one I get. 93/91 usually. But I don't choose gas based on Octane, I choose based on location! Like others wrote, my state (Tx) also almost universally is 10% ethynol. And, seriously, most of the stations in the state are 93.
I tried 87 vs 93 in my 2003 Honda Pilot and I get better miles with the 93. Tried both ethanol free vs 10% ethanol in both my 2009 Escalade hybrid and my 2015 Escalade platinum and there was no difference in mileage.
Manual states Premium is Required, 91 or 93 or higher. I use 93 mostly but gonna use 91 more now that there's a new station in my Township. Plus it's cheaper. 87 or 89 is for emergencies only. Do not put 89 or lower in regularly for the P300, P400, or P550.
AV Gas!? Are you insane?! What like 100LL? They always said never to use general aviation fuel for cars when I was flying. Hope you're kidding. Also, general aviation fuel is the most expensive here in the U.S., more so than jet fuel or gas/diesel for cars.
Hey uhh, the manual states this bro... "Do not use fuels with an octane rating lower than 91 RON, as severe engine damage may occur."
So explain to me again what the big difference is...

Also:"The vehicle manufacturer recommends the use of premium unleaded fuel with a minimum octane rating of 95 RON. Using the correct fuel specification helps to maintain the vehicle's performance, fuel economy, and driveability.
If premium unleaded fuel is not available, use unleaded fuel with a lower octane rating, down to a minimum of 91 RON. Using lower octane-rated fuel may reduce the engine's performance, increase fuel consumption, cause an audible engine knock, and cause other driveability problems."

Hey... bro, the difference is that Land Rover cannot deny a warranty claim for example, if you are filling the tank with 87 octane instead of 91 and your engine seizes or something.
We don't use RON octane measuring method for unleaded fuel in the US, we use R+M/2 (also known as AKI), so 91 RON abroad is equivalent to 85 in the US, 95 RON = 89 R+M/2, etc.
