95 RON = 91
91 RON = is approx 87, hence why I mentioned emergencies.

That's correct, which is why premium unleaded is recommended, not required.

If you put less than 91 octane, you're gonna have problems. Makes 0 sense to put non-premium fuel in a premium car's engine. Also 85 is barely even used anymore in the U.S. It even states, "If premium unleaded fuel is not available, use unleaded fuel with a lower octane rating..." Where is there premium fuel not available?

Death Valley often runs out of premium, usually when I am there. Also, some gas stations in out-of-the-way places down in Baja California only carry regular unleaded.

Out west in Cali and Colorado are the only places I'm aware of. The manual also is careful to never use the word "recommends". I standby the idea of using 91 or higher octane for the P300 +, unless there is no other choice, then 87 - 89 octane. Definitely never 85.

Your prior post literally quotes the manual as stating "The vehicle manufacturer recommends...". Don't get me wrong...I could care less either way. Just getting a chuckle out of this back and forth.

In regards to 95 RON, yes. Thought I made that clear

Ford Bronco published numbers:

Anyone have the mpg and hp numbers for the Defender using lower octane? Seems it would settle this.
