Hello!
We brought our first ever Landrover and it is a Pangea Green SE trim Defender. So far me and my family just love it.
My wife is short and using the access height settings have helped some. My concern is if the repeated raising and lowering of the suspension would cause long term issues with the suspension.
I do not have side steps installed and would that be a better way to go?. Also, would that be something I would need to do at the dealer?

Welcome to the LR family!

I've had 3 different LR products in the last 11 years, they all have had the air suspension and all set to lower when the car shut off. I've never had an issue with any of them.

The airbags should last for 100,000's of miles as the technology has been around for years in both Rover products and big-rigs.

The only real item that will have wear is the air compressor. The height sensor is also a movable part, but it operates both to raise/lower the suspension, and also moves as the car travels and the suspension moves up and down. I have never had any component fail.

I've been wondering about this, too as I've never had air suspension in a vehicle. I've turned the auto adjust off out of precaution but maybe i really don't need to worry about it? Assuming this would be covered by warranty?

 

Ours has been on since day 1. We plan to use all the "perks" this car has. One of the reasons I even like this vehicle is the air suspension. I am not a fan of lifted vehicles, it's just not my thing. I prefer them to sit as low as possible. I would love for them to make lowering rods for this thing instead of only making lifting rods.
