Default Adding rear view mirror camera?

We thought our 110 V8 had the rear view mirror camera option but realized after the fact it didn't. The one we test drove did and we prefer the better view without the spare blocking most of the view.

Figure we'd need the camera in the shark fin on the roof and the switch on the mirror itself, but is this something we can add after the fact ? Also wonder if it will be worth it $$?

You'll need the roof camera, the mirror itself, and the wiring harness. If you aren't a DIY person you'll also need some room on your debit card.

Are you in the US market? Curious as to what model year and variant you have? Seems odd spec to me to not have ClearSight mirror on a V8 model.

It can be done, but the car will have to be re-coded using Pathfinder or a GAP tool and it is expensive unless you can get the parts from a junkyard. You'll need the new mirror, a different shark fin antenna, an antenna cover, replacement clips, a replacement nut for the antenna and a new wiring harness. I have attached a quote I got from my dealer for all of the parts needed to retrofit the ClearSight mirror. The price includes a 10% discount that my dealer gives me. You can also get the parts cheaper from eBay or a junkyard, but I always prefer to use new parts.

Ouch! I'm a pretty good DIY'er but think I'll just get used to looking over the spare!!

And yes, not sure why our '24 V8 didn't come with the clear view as it had most other options we wanted.
