Air Suspension in Dynamic Mode
Hi everybody,
On my P400e with Air Suspension, I have unlock the Dynamic Mode with Configurable Dynamic.
So... in the setting of the Dynamic-i I can select Engine, Steering, Gear Shift and Suspension.
If I can feel the difference switching ON/OFF the Engine, Steering and the Gear Shift (and I can understand how the mapping change the car feeling on throttle, gear shift and hardness Steering),
but I can't feel the difference in the Suspension....
The Defender as only air Suspension (witch can influence the hight) but and do not have the active shock absorbers!
By activated or deactivate the Suspension the hight on riding mode do not change... so... on what parameter the Suspension in Configurable Dynamic influence???
Anyone know it?
Maybe the pressure of the air in the suspension chamber?
This maybe can simulate a spring harder??

The air suspension should come with adaptive shock absorbers. Are you sure you don’t have them?
Anyway, I have also added dynamic mode to my P400 with air suspension and the difference between dynamic and comfort is relatively subtle, at least on the roads I’ve tried it on. Try it on more uneven roads. The difference you feel will be in how much or how quickly the body moves in roll and heave/bounce motions . . . Dynamic mode should have less float and move quicker but have lower displacement. There may not be a big difference (or any difference) on sharper impacts. I think Land Rover missed an opportunity by not lowering the truck 10-30mm in dynamic mode, as that would make the difference more noticeable, but they must have had a good reason for not.

Ok.... but all the L663 with air suspension has the same Air Spring....

And all the L663 with different motorization has the same Shock Absorber (the difference is only from MHEV or PHEV....
So... what I can't understand is how suspension can change with Dynamic ON or OFF if the only parameter is the air inside the Air Spring, maybe the pressure???

Did you code your car via some aftermarket way to have dynamic mode from the V8 model? P300 and P400’s don’t have it unless you code it in, that’s what we’re talking about, not the S mode on the shifter. The steering and suspension do change when you select I-Dynamic from the UI mode selector.

There are 2 lines connected to each suspension corners one is air line which is for the air spring and the other one is electrical line which controls the damper. The dampers are controlled by electrical wires and if in dynamic mode the ride hight changes then the air lines changes the air in the air spring chamber.I haven't unlock dynamic setting on my car, if it doesn't alter the character of the dampers perhaps something is wrong. Just my 2 cents.

I took this as a cue and dropped my standard height by 20 using the Gap Tool. Now we are getting closer to a 'sports car' in dynamic mode. Remember that this is an offset setting so all heights will change accordingly. So for this setting in offroad height - I'll have a bit more articulation which is yet to be tested. You have about -40 to +60 safe range to play with. If you go lower you might hit the bump stops in access mode which will trigger extended height, though I presume this setting is also offset.
