I like how the gear carrier looks in the Derender, but if I read correctly here, it is not compatible with the Front Runner rack. Have anyone installed anything similar in their vehicle? I am considering mounting a Waterport or something similar.

 

Powerfuluk hinted at a side plate that would go where the carrier goes now. I guess the idea would be you could then attach just about anything to it. I like that idea over the fixed LR box as I don’t want anything there unless I’m on an extended trip. The LR box would be a lot more useful if it was on a quick release mount or something. Might wait and see what they up with.

 

****, is the Front Runner not compatible with the side gear carrier? I guess I missed those threads. Tried to search but couldn't find anything specific.

 

the long rack from FR is not compatible with the box or the ladder, since both install into the roof rails and it needs to be removed.

 

I found this one I a FB group, but no details on the mount. Has anyone frighten something out? I’d like to carry a small water tank there (by itself without the ladder).
