I bought my V8 Carpathian Edition at MSRP. There are a lot of reputable dealers out there doing that.

did you order it? i believe the discussion is about dealers having stock and not charging over.

when i inquired about ordering they gave me an honest answer that there was no point. way too many deposits and the projected allocations it would take years before they get through the deposits

I looked into ordering a V8 as well and was told 12-18 month delivery but they were willing to sell it at MSRP. Once I learned about the lack of roof rails and mandatory 22" wheels on the V8 I moved on to ordering another P400 X-Dynamic. Once that delivery got pushed back and became more uncertain, we cancelled that order and ordered an X5 (V8) instead. Paying MSRP price with a pretty solid delivery date.

22” are not mandatory on the V8. I have ordered one with 20” wheels and off road tyres which was on the option list. Personally I can live without a roof rack. I don’t like putting things up on the roof having once wiped out a bike on a low hanging branch on a previous car. I will very rarely have more than 2 people in mine so the rear seats will probably be folded down and my gear jammed in there and the bike on a rear bike mount. All good for me. My dealer is offering it a MSRP but I have to wait……….. I need to learn the virtue of patience now.

I was not in a rush for a new car. Just wanted a 110. Something similar happened with me when it came to pricing /ordering. I ordered a my22 in November. I was told I needed to wait for the Dec order call. Then 3-4 months for delivery. Selling at MSRP. Fine. Then dec they said no more orders for the 22 P300 they are switching to the 23my. Ok. Then I was called mid Jan saying JLR is not building any P300s anytime soon. A week later LR called and said they are receiving one of the last inbound P300s coming into the USA. I don’t even think they knew they were getting it. It was a more luxury spec than i wanted, but I was able to still get it at msrp and jumped on it.
