Curious as I had done this on a FullSize RR V8 with an X pipe and it gave it a pretty good growl when you stepped on it...but could hardly tell when you drove normal.

I see a couple different versions out there, all straight pipe. And it looks like in the front of the resonator it slides off, but then you cut to rear so that their piece can slide on.

Be curious if anyone has attempted this?

I didn't use that product, but I used an X-pipe I had from a previous car. Local muffler shop welded it on. Sounds very nice, especially with the valves disabled.
Maybe 10% louder, but with a nice rich tone

 

i had a miltek resonated exhaust installed on mine. When Miltek shipped it, they sent the non resonated version. The drive from Vista in North San Diego County to my office in Upland in San Bernardino was unbearable. They swapped out with the correct exhaust two days later. It is super loud. Here’s a video TAG Motorsports posted of my Defender on of the resonated and non resonated sounds. Both versions are my V8. The video doesn’t do the real life sound justice. It’s f-ing loud!!

The resonated version is much more tame. Also the drone is crazy annoying around 40-50mph on the non-resonated exhaust.

Did you end up doing a resonator delete using this product or similar or did you find an X pipe?

 

I did get the center resonator cut out and added in these straight pipes. Definitely gives it more of a raspy sound and just a little bit louder than stock....its a super easy swap if you have the tools to cut the exhuast, or any muffler shop will be able to do it for you as well!

 

Thanks for responding. Would it be possible to get a video of your setup given you’ve done this straight pipe upgrade and have the CETE valve controller.

I’m very interested to hear valve open and valve closed with this upgrade. It sounds in theory like the perfect option.

Assuming you don’t have any other modifications to the vehicle apart from the CETE and resonator delete?

Just did the resonator delete today and replaced with an x-pipe. About 10% louder with a rasp sound. No droning.
