Default The Waiting is the Hardest Part: "at Port" outbound

My D90S has been waiting nearly two weeks? I can't find much for Bratislava port on marinetraffic.com or Vesselfinder.com

Has the delivery date given to you buy your sales person past that date? What makes you think its just waiting? My guess is that the port is doing stuff to it in order to make your advised delivery date happen.

Due in western North Carolina around June 8th, build date was 4/21. Now almost three weeks ago (tomorrow).

I guess I got spoiled by the BMW new vehicle tracking last year?

What's your expected delivery date?

Mine comes through Baltimore.

End of May. The boat is on the way along the Mexican coast towards Los Angeles.

Your sales person should be able to get the name of the ship being used to float your truck to the states.

Mine has not been assigned yet, expected any day.

I don't know if it's the same case with JLR, but sometimes when a vehicle is held at the port for an extended period of time, it could mean that the vehicle is being repaired due to unexpected damages during transit.

It's actually not an uncommon occurrence. For BMW, they actually have a repair facility at the port that's supposed to be so advanced that it's very close to the original factory in terms of the quality of the work performed. They also have a certain % tolerance so if the damage exceeds a certain % the car will not be repaired and a new vehicle will be reordered/replaced for the customer or the dealer.

Right. Not damaged, just built 4/24/2023.

As noted, BMW has Vehicle Processing Centers where they can fix issues. Most of their vehicles destined for the southeast go through the VPC at the Spartanburg SC plant where obviously they are "as capable".
