Apple Car Play issues
Am having intermittent issues where Car Play disconnects and won’t reconnect. Most of the time it happens when I’m driving somewhere unfamiliar using Waze. 🤬 Happens when wired and wireless.
Is this a LR thing, an Apple thing, or a me thing (I am over 50)? Any advice?

Happens to me rarely, so you are not alone. If it doesn’t resolve itself after a few minutes then I might toggle airplane mode making sure WiFi is disabled (if on Wireless CarPlay) or just reboot the phone which usually fixes it. There are some physical locations where CarPlay will disconnect temporarily, some type of external interference - we spent a week in Sedona, AZ and half way down the Main Street it would always disconnect/reconnect.
The question is, does it happen at the same place/location each time it happens. I'm in Arizona and leave near a hospital, when I drive by this hospital, my CarPlay will cut out / sometimes completely disconnect. I'm traveling past this hospital on the highway so the disconnect happens for about 20-40 seconds and then once past, CarPlay will reconnect and all is fine. Somewhere on this forum, there was a discussion about some type of interference around hospitals, pharmacies and a few other places. To the best of my knowledge this is only a Land Rover thing - I hove only experienced it in my Defender.
If this does not describe your issue, I would make sure you have the latest update on your iPhone and I would do a complete reset of your Pivi Pro and your iPhone, reconnect like adding your iPone for the first time. After a Pivi Pro update, the connection with the iPhone can be wacky.
Hope this helps...

If you have an iPhone 17 this is a known issue. If you updated to iOS 26 on any other model iPhone, it can also be an issue but seems to be a lot less so. Some had suggested better quality cables but the two top off the line cables I bought did not help with my CarPlay issue in my LR3 - No, I do not have a Defender. But I did have an iPhone 17 with these issues and spent far too long looking into this problem which my old iPhone 11 Pro did not have. I returned the 17 and will wait for Apple to resolve the issue.

It's a function of briefly losing connectivity to the cell base tower. This causes AirPlay to drop and sometimes not reconnect. Many manufacturers have this issue and JLR seems better than most. Nissan will drop the connection and then require that you stop the car, get out, lock the doors, walk far enough away to lose bluetooth connection and then start everything up again.
It's a consequence of software development being done in Seattle or the Bay Area which are blanketed with high speed connectivity everywhere. Of course in the past, software companies did proper testing, but that's added cost and effort. So now code just gets shipped and the users test it for them.
