Default Battery drain

Has anyone else had this issue.

Have a 110 3 litre 250. 400 miles on the clock, had from new.
Had battery low warning a couple times, then went to start one evening battery completely dead, Land Rover Assist got it started, got us home.
Next morning dead again, Land Rover assist came out spent 3 hours on our drive.
Said something was drawing 30 amps out of the battery when vehicle is off.
Now been on Land Rover for 2 weeks, no update.
Anyone else had this issue?

THANKS

Have not had this issue, and it probably is just a bad battery. I would have your dealer replace it with a new battery.

30 amp draw while vehicle is off is not normal. Do you typically lock the vehicle when not in use? And when I say lock, for everything to go to sleep, it must be ‘double’ locked, meaning two presses of the lock button resulting in the ‘beep’ confirmation. Even when locked, the vehicle has a lot of nanny things still in play which will place a draw on the battery. Searching for WiFi, looking for software updates, monitoring other systems. The dealer needs to find the source of the power draw, 30 amps is way too much.

Is the double lock only through the key fob? I tend to just hit the button on the door handle. Assuming that won’t double lock it at all

They can do electrical circuit detection to see what's causing the issue. Some modules not shutting down properly perhaps

While it's good to lock the vehicle - it will all power down even when not locked. So I don't think that's your issue. 30A is a lot!

The Defender is a NOTORIOUS battery binge drinker. You leave it for any amount of time and it is likely to die. And, hilariously, they are frequently delivered to new customers without the required battery "top off". Don't even get @Dogpilot started on the thread!

Do an advanced search on the topic and you will get a LOT of threads about it. However, I will admit 30A is even beyond the "normal" vampiric style of the Defender. Good luck and please post afterwards what happened, what they said re: it.
