LOL...I listed 5 GoodYears with under 100 miles on them on marketplace for free. No takers after 2 months so I just gave them to my tire guy to recycle.
Wow...that's not good news. I guess they might be holding down the shed floor for awhile...lol.
I've had 5 GY ATs with 15k miles and 20" wheels listed on fb marketplace for 3 months and no takers. Price started high, but has steadily reduced. It's at like $1,500 right now. I'll prob reduce again soon.

Ok, I'm going to change the name of this thread to the "Thread of Despair" lol.
I've told my wife that selling these take offs will help pay for the new tires.
Since selling the tires looks like it's going to be a flop, I'm going to start another thread.
It's going to be a "Go Fund Me" to bail out the dummy who thought he could sell his Goodyears so I can try to save my hide!

(Legal disclaimer: this is a joke of course)
I used similar lie, errr I mean logic, with my wife about selling my old wheels/tires to help pay for new ones.
Always better to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Just tell her that you'll save up your chore allowance to pay for the tires. Every time you do the dishes, thats $5. The lawn getting mowed is $50. Trash day, $10.
Pretty soon it'll add up!!! Just make sure you budget for the previously-airborne-broken-dishes that will occur whenever you remind her of the dwindling account balance
Back to the actual tire discussion - I think what people are running into while trying to sell off their OEM tires is a small pool of available buyers and also buyers who are more likely to let the dealer sell them whatever they need for their Defenders. Yesterday we had our first snow of the year that fell during my wife's morning commute. It was dry, compactable slick snow and when I asked her how the Defender did she said "it did ok". She was clearly not impressed - and when she got home she agreed that we needed to put new tires on it before next winter. The fact that the OEM tires are decent but not great is another factor as well.

Agreed - the stock AT's don't have enough sipes for real snowy areas of the country - too much tread that makes them squirrely. I opted to get a new set of 20" wheels and Nokians since the 19" wheels have very few options for snow tires.
I replaced my stock GY ATs with K02s. I LOVE the look of the KO2s, which gives the Defender a proper offroad look, and Im much more prepared for offroading, but I miss the smooth, quiet ride of the ATs...
that said, I'll never go back, cause the ATs look like car tires to me and I think a offroad truck should have proper offroad tires.
