On Board Air compressor option.....a question
Wait you can use it to pump air out too? That's cool.
I use a set of four adjustable, spring loaded de-airing valves to do the same, takes a few minutes but half that time is removing the valve caps, screwing them on, then removing them and screwing the caps back on.
I didn't mention it earlier, but I wonder about the integrated units duty cycle. Can it run for 30 minutes straight to air all tires back to max load setting or would you have to shut it down and let it cool?
Still a handy tool. And certainly 38 would get you home or down the road in less time.

Not as quick as those valve stems, I'll admit. Cause you have to do one at a time.
One of our favorite camp spots in CO is a high elevation lake, we camp at just under 11k feet. It's 2ish hours highway, then 45 minutes dirt road, then a bitch of a climb up a mine trail that hasn't been used in God knows how long. Steep and littered with rocks and mining debris.
So airing down before and after is a must. But on the way out, it's about an hour to a gas station. So when I am loaded up for camping, I am hoping the built in compressor will fit my needs without having to dig out a portable. We'll see.
Had originally planned on getting the built-in compressor, but when I added the off road pack I got a standard electrical outlet in the rear which makes a Viair compressor and $900 in my pocket a much better option
. I have the next size up and will use that if the outlet carries enough amps to run it. If not, hooking the Viair up to the battery is trivial.
I assume the outlet is 120v AC. If it is, and you don’t have a Viair yet, you might want to look at a SENCO.

I wonder how Land Rover figured out that dinky AC outlet would be useful enough to include it in the off-road package, actually. Their engineers' minds work in mysterious ways sometimes. Is there any off-road worthy AC device out there that draws less than 180 watts? A razor? A walkie talkie charger? Go figure.
:roflmao:
Yea those dealer installed options do feel like a bit of ripoff hey ... my dealer quoted me $2k for the undershield & $2.4k for the compressor here in Australia, unfortunately, they aren't an at port installation rather a local fitment and the parts are most likely on a back order...meh
