Default Body colored extended fender flares.

Folks, as title suggests, while searching, I found that there’s quite a few owners that chose to go from the flat black, to gloss black extended fenders, but what about body colored??? My searches couldn’t find anything.

My take on this is that for one, I do not want gloss black.
for two, I know that the flat black plastic flares will get beat up by rocks thrown by the front tires and these marks are permanent. Having the extended flares sanded, primed and painted followed by PPF is the best way to go to keep the Defender looking good.

Or….. keep it as it is… I already have PPF on my rear fenders.

PFA…

Extended whee arch is simply protecting, not extending arches as we know. So matte black plastic makes sense for protection and easy to replace.
Color match will do same for protection of original fendors but cost more due to paint job. so if you already have PPF on fenders, do you really need them in terms of functionality?
If you like the look since you already have a roof rack, gearbox and ladder, you should go with it but for the function, I think PPF will do same thing for basic protection.

I’ll admit it’s solely to complete the look, but really am on the fence regarding these…. For some reason, it’s a harder than anticipated decision to make.

Ha, yes- with your roof rack, gear carrier box and ladder, I will prob. debate on the wheel arches as well.
I dont have any of them so I skipped it but I found color match versions from eBay for my 75th Grasmere Green so I assume you can find your color there as well.
But one thing to think about would be, as its' not really extending any length but just adding another layer of arches on top of stock, color match version may just make it too blend while making another seams/gaps on top of stock fenders.

Good point regarding them not showing much.

If I'm you, I will prob. think of adding matte black arches or gloss black arches + change all lower trims to gloss black since your gearbox, roof are gloss black. There's no right or wrong options here, =)

I have the plastic arch protection and they've held up very well since I put them on a year and a half ago. I've gone on quite a few gravel roads and haven't had any stone chips in the plastic.

I've had this same thought - could look really good.

OP I've actually seen a 110 in service at my dealer in your same color that has them body colored - truck also has a an aggressive wheel/tire setup. I'll ask my SA if he by chance has any info/pics to share and pass along if so

I have also been looking at body coloured wide wheel arches. It seems that 99% go for gloss black and the remaining stick to matte black.

Interestingly it seems the OCTA has wide body coloured wheel arches as standard. My feeling is that if you want better coverage and want the vehicle to look wider then body coloured works better?

Hunters Prestige has body coloured flares for order.
