Anybody no anything about electric brake controller for trailer towing in US. I will need one for my new V8

 

I know Redarc makes a great controller.

 

You will need to purchase a proportional brake controller, along with the correct adaption cable which fits a new Defender. This installation is pretty simple, but requires you crawl under the dashboard on the driver's side.

I installed this one last week in my LR4. It works great, as do other proportional brake controllers by Reese, Redarc and Tekonsha:

There is also wiring necessary from the towing bracket to a wiring harness in the rear of the vehicle, if you are adding a towing bracket post purchase. The part can be purchased from JLR, if necessary. If you order the tow package with the vehicle purchase, that wiring will be installed in the factory.

I saw on a thread somewhere about the Redarc fitting very nicely in the blank space below the light dimmer switch. My trailer guy likes them and said it would be an easy install.
