So glad I have a Defender 90 coming in October/November. Ford is having major QC issues with its hardtop and sent out a statement today saying that all the MIC (molded in color ) hardtops are pretty much bad and that they need to change to a new design. SO, all the units that are in production or have been produced and are sitting in a holding lot, are stuck in purgatory until the new tops can be fabricated, tested and fitted.

My JLR dealer just emailed me, they still don't have the green light to submit my 2022 Defender order. The Bronco launch is a dumpster fire. It's real hard these days to buy a truck I like

 

You gotta love the Bronco ppl and their response to the issues at hand from the hardtop to the issues with GOAT mode.

Hard Core Bronco person on the Defender: That 4x4 is hot garbage. Look at TFL and the engine that seized. Their software is not working, garbage. It is one big dumpster fire. I wouldn't buy one because of LR reliability issues. You see it now with the garbage they have built.

Hard Core Bronco person on the Bronco: This 4x4 is amazing, even though I haven't gotten mine yet. Been waiting a year and a half.
"Hey, did you hear about the engine seizing on the highway and the other person who mentioned his seized on the beach?"
"Yea, tough luck but it's a new vehicle, your gonna have issues."

"First-year problems, a software update should take care of the issue."

It's the internet so there are tons of crazies, but my personal experience on various Bronco forums is that the vast majority of people posting there are reasonable people just looking for a Wrangler alternative. I'm sure if we scoured this forum there would be some unreasonable opinions being expressed

 

I’m really glad my Bronco order was delayed, otherwise I would never have looked at the Defender 90 X in depth and bought one.

 

I also would have never considered a Defender (or test drove one), if not for the Bronco delays. While I have an order in and I was told it was built and on-schedule for late August/early September hand-over, I'm not going to celebrate or believe it until I'm in it and driving away. Been a VERY long wait to get a new car (though if the Defender comes through, that part will only be 2 or 2.5 months).

 

I agree, I was just having some fun. My Sister In-law just placed an order for a Bronco Soft Top. She said I like LR but I have always bought Ford for myself. They drive Cadillac Escalade, Daughter has a Jeep and she is getting rid of her Ford Explore for the Bronco when it arrives.
