Default I love my new Bronco!

There are very few people that actually have a Bronco in their possession or have driven one for any significant amount of time to judge whether it’s a pos or not. I have about 3000km on mine (mostly highway) & it’s a very nice car to drive compared to my dated, gas guzzling, noisy 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro. I haven’t had any problems with the roof except for some wind noise but the top is modular in 5 pieces so kinda expected it.
I agree that launch has been horrible, but at least Ford admits to their FU and is doing something about it unlike LR where there has been nothing but crickets in resolving the taillight issue. Also, when there is a price difference of about $50,000 for top spec Bronco & top spec P400 X , I think it’s unfair to compare these two. I am happy with the Bronco & the Tacoma is getting traded off for my new Defender.

Agreed - the Bronco and wrangler compete. I would say the Defender competes only with other JLR products and the G-Wagen and Landcruiser. I've always found it puzzling that people seem to think the Bronco, Wrangler and Defender are for the same purpose - what's the tow capacity of the Wrangler or the Bronco? Which would you rather drive cross country?

I'm interested if you have driven the Defender 110 as well? I have seen a couple of the new Broncos locally and the 2 door looks a lot smaller inside than the Defender. The 4 door seems similar, but there appears to be a lot less interior width than the Defender?

The 4 door bronco reminded me a lot of the International Scout in size, albeit with 4 doors (still smaller than the Travellall - I guess I'm showing my age with those references).

Nice trucks, but as I said to someone else, I think they are aimed at a completely different market to the Defender

...and I think there are a lot of us who come from the Jeep world, want to consider something different because different is sometimes fun, but still want decent off-road performance. I would have been all over the Bronco for testing/cross-shopping purposes to the D110 if it had been available or nearly available when I got ready to replace my Wrangler.

Towing capacity doesn't enter into my calculus -- I towed everything I needed to tow with my 2-door JK's 2000# rating.

Each has its strengths vis-a-vis the other ones -- Bronco is better in the rocks, has many more mods already and tons on the way (will no doubt equal the Wrangler's aftermarket in short order), and is cheaper to buy up front (apples-to-apples) and no doubt cheaper to repair and maintain. The Defender tows more, offers more factory "comfort and technology" options, is probably better in sand/snow/mud (if you change the tires), will be rarer once they flood the market with Broncs, is presumably much more comfortable on a long drive, wades deeper, and offers significantly different heights between Access and Offroad with the push of a switch. But there's still a lot of overlap between the two. Both are "cool" and "it" trucks right now, both are handsome, rugged interpretations of earlier legendary off-road models.

I think I'd still have gone LR even if Bronco was readily available, but that's because my mission has mellowed a bit in the last three years, from hardcore offroading to more of a cross-country overlanding focus. Five years ago it would have been Jeep or Bronco without question.

Cheers!

I did my due diligence in test driving a 110 before ordering it. There is not much of a size difference in that the Def is slightly longer in the front & Bronco sits higher. Don’t discard the Bronco as some weekend thing, I travel to work 7 hours each way & is very comfortable on long trips. The 10 speed trans makes the power seem adequate, but obviously doesn’t have the grunt of the new Def. I keep 2 cars and purchased the Bronco for some top off driving in the summer.

From an industrial design and interior design stand point, the bronco is no match to the defender.

Driving by a Ford dealer today, we saw a new Outer Banks Bronco with Lux pack. Pretty much the same as what my son has on order minus a hard top.

A hard left across 2 lanes of traffic and into the showroom... my wife walked right over and said, we'd like to drive it. "No problem".

I really enjoyed it. A little body roll and it hunts a bit but it was definitely fun to drive. We only had it for about 10 minutes but it felt like it would be comfortable on a trip and the screen is awesome. AC was super cold and it was 95 degrees out.

Loved the low end torque. Went right off the line with a smooth curve.

Totally shocked at how quiet it was with a soft top.

There's not a chance I'd trade my 110 HSE X-Dynamic but, if I was looking to spend $25k less, this would be the truck.

This is the video my wife took after a 3 sangria lunch:

I love her dearly.
