Buddy of mine ordered through Land Rover San Diego and they are MSRP with orders as well, with $0 for a security deposit (lil fishy, either they want more defenders regardless if the customer takes it or not or they are gonna pull something).
do you know how long ago your buddy ordered from LR San Diego? i may have to contact them

He ordered on June 27th I believe and since then his allocation has already been filled. Not sure if there are any other open allocations for the 130 this month, maybe other defenders.

Fairfield's not truly "MSRP" - I ordered a 110 from them and when I reviewed the final bill of sale it had ~$2k in bogus dealers addons. They would not budge on removing them so I ordered mine from a NY dealer at MSRP..

What did they try to add on? They actually let you walk and wouldn't budge?

Thanks for the heads up. What add ons did they try to sell you? This was after you placed the order, waited for production and then came to pick it up? Surprised that they let you walk.

Would not budge - I'd already put down a $2500 deposit so they knew I was serious. They didn't disclose any of it in advance. I discovered it reviewing the contract.
Items: $475 - interior XPEL protection, $750 for their security system to protect the trucks on they lot, $1000 "paint protection"... It just another way to add ADM without saying they are adding ADM

New here but wanted to chime in on this.

JLR Fairfield CT just did the same to me: Heres what they added $199 - Theft Deterrent , $699 - Xpel Protection.

When I asked about the xpel and what it covers exactly, here is what the salesmans said "Its protection for your door jambs and your screens inside."

I said I don't want a gloss film covering on my interactive dash or my nav screen. He said it comes like that we can't remove it. It sounded very fishy to me as he provided no detail about it more than what he said. The theft deterrent he said they put little tags on different parts so if your car gets stolen they know its from your car. I am pretty pissed about this, granted its not a huge markup compared to what others have experienced on this forum. Its just BS.

Some more about my experience here:

I originally set out to order a Defender 130 X-Dynamic with standard 5-seats, as I dont need the 3rd row and wanted the extra cargo space. I was told later after they wanted a to increase my original 5K deposit to a 10k non-refundable deposit because my order is non-standard. I said well its an option on the website build, seems pretty standard to me why else would it be there...I didn't want to deal with a non-refundable deposit especially one that high.

So I decided OK I can deal with a 110 the cargo is just enough for my needs even though I would prefer the 130, then they gave me the build sheet with the extra items that I mentioned at the top of the post. I am just going to cancel my dealings with this establishment, they have my CC info and stuff so I was wondering do I have to worry about anything, I did not sign any purchase agreements, anyone have any info in that regard I would appreciate it.

I am new to LR, but I have a Jaguar F-pace S. But I look forward to being a part of this community. I will try JLR in Darien CT tommorow and see what happens.

Sort to hear about this. Same shenanigans I had to deal with.

They refunded my CC down payment. That took a week or so.

Depending on how your visit to LR Darian goes I’m happy to introduce you to my sales person at a NY dealership
