Exclamation Bye all, sad to go. Gas prices kicked me out

Hi guys,

Well, today is the day. Sold my 2022 Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE P400. Just can't justify the gas prices any longer. The governments and the oil companies can go F' themselves LOL.
Have enjoyed my short stint here, my Defender has been without a doubt the BEST vehicle I've bought since my college car in the early 80's the Renault Le Car LOL......I'm kidding

Enjoy, stay safe and thank you

Good luck with whatever you choose, but you’ll still need to pay for gas unless you go EV. And unless whatever you buy has an incredibly better fuel economy, the savings will not be incredibly better. Everyone loves placing blame, but I agree with ‘F the oil companies’. Look at their returns, look at the CEO’s compensation packages and lifestyles and then realize that they need to charge what they charge to keep the shareholders happy and the big bucks flowing in. To hell with the guy holding the gas nozzle watching the numbers go up.

Hi Chuck, Exactly...well said. I ordered a Tesla Model 3 Performance, I'll top it off at work for free using a Destination charger and overnight at home, so the cost will be minimal, our last Tesla increased our FPL bill about $25 a month. I was spending $95 to $115 a week on premium fill ups on the Defender😔

Sounds like EV super charging prices have gone up and are approaching gas prices. You can definitely offset this if you're able to charge at home, and even more if you have solar, but it's interesting how fast some things are going in the wrong direction on electrics.

If it was my only car, I don’t think I would stick with the Defender either. My wife and I share our two cars, with the other being fully electric. So we can use the Defender when it really makes sense (off roading, hauling people or stuff, long road trips, snow, etc) and then drive the EV for the bulk of our daily driving and commuting.

It saves us around $200 a month putting those miles on an EV instead of paying to fill the Defender.

I'm moving in the opposite direction! I have an Audi RS6 and soon the Defender... I imagine I'll be known on a first name basis at the gas station!!

Maybe it's where I am in life, kids are on their own, just me and my dog, but I want to enjoy the ride.... it's worth the expense... to me. At least I dont collect watches!!

Lol. I can afford the gas, I just refuse to pay this much for it. And man do I feel for those of you that live in CA😔
RS6 is spectacular, best Audi by far. Enjoy it Matt
PS: I paid $8550 for my ceramic Submariner 4 years ago. The jewelry store I bought it from brand new offered me $17,000!!!! WTF, Crazy

Electric is super cheap in Florida, not at all concerned about Kw costs here.

8500 sounds awfully cheap for a Submariner. You sleeping with the sales lady or something.

It wasn’t long ago that $8,500 for a sub was expensive!
