Default Cabin water leaks

Hi. I have a new 24 X Dynamic delivered early March 2024. Less than 1k miles on it.

This is a US spec LHD model.

I just noticed some puddles on the driver side footwell and the “cubby” just to the left of the gauge cluster. The weather has been rainy so no doubt this is penetrating somehow.

Attaching a few photos. The red mark ups are where I had water appearing to drip from before pooling in the footwell.

There was water both on top of and beneath the rubber mat.

There was some that dumped out when I opened the door. It was a good bit really - far more than you want inside your car!

I’m not finding any trim that feels damp or discolored - headliner, a piller, dash, etc.

is this a known thing or am I just lucky?? I vaguely recall reading about A Pillar leaks but the search isn’t turning anything up for me. Too many coolant leak threads 😆

My first guess would be the windshield needs to be resealed. That’s just a guess.

I’ve troubleshooted a bit without a hose and I’m suspecting inner door seal. It’s pretty wet behind the fold. Not seeing the same thing on the passenger side.

detecting some moisture half way up near where the dash meets and I’m guessing it might be running downhill and splitting off behind the dash and down to the floor

How could water get up higher than that though? Maybe I am missing something.

you’re right. I think it’s coming in higher up on the seal but running downhill. The photo is at the bottom obviously.

Called the dealer today for warranty service and they told me “the leak people come on Wednesday’s”.

She said it’s so common that they’ve got a separate outfit to help track them down. Unfortunately I’m 2 weeks out though.

No issue on my 10/23 build, but I’ll keep a look out for it. It’s been raining a lot here.

Please keep us posted on what they find out. I had the same issue with similar leaks on both driver and passenger footwells. When I took it in the first time, they said it was coming from the windshield but that did not resolve the issue. The footwells got wet again after the windshield got replaced and they could not find anything after checking all the drains and the seals of the pano roof. I will have them check the door seals. Thanks for sharing your pictures.

I was blessed with more rain and leaks today. The windshield is very possible. Coming in somewhere behind the interior A Pillar trim and dripping down, forking in a couple directions.

appointment on 4/24

Do the sunroof drains run down the A-pillar? I know Volvo had an issue with them.
