Default Can I update PIVI without setting car alarm?

While my car can lock, the alarm doesn't become active(even though the red light flashes and if I was inside the car after locking it, and open the door the alarm gets set off), due to probably one of the lock switches or something, but now it's impeding my ability to update to the newest software. Is there a work around for this?

Are you sure it's the alarm? Did you double lock it? Also, when it failed to update, did it give a reason as to why? Sometimes the battery doesn't have enough charge to install an update.

Yes it locks, but also double honks after which I assume is telling me there is an error. side mirror dont fold in either. It just shuts off, even when I select start install - then it just never moves forward and the screen goes blank like its turned off

Double lock does give a beep. That is not an error beep.
