Now that the winter and bad weather is behind us on the East Coast, I’m switching from the OEM rubber mats to the carpeted mats. The driver’s carpeted mat is so small it’s kind of absurd! It covers not even half of the footwell!
I’m looking into getting custom floor mats made for the front driver and passenger footwells. Something that will provide more coverage and something that can integrate with the factory snaps to hold the mats in place.
On one of my other cars, I ordered custom mats from Coco Mats. I provided them with a template and they made the mats to my specifications. The process took about 6 weeks from sending the template to receiving the mats.
Wondering if any of you have any other recommendations for custom floor mats? Not sure if Lloyd’s makes custom mats, but the quality of their mats is great.
Please LMK if any of you have already ordered custom mats. Maybe that manufacturer kept the template which would expedite the process.
Im with you on making carpet floor matts, a great idea!
Do you still have the templets ?
can we contact other different companies to see our options?
group buy if we have enough interest, thank you
I pulled the trigger on some new floor mats and I am very happy with my decision. The OEM carpeted mats are terrible. The driver’s mat is so small it’s absurd! Only covers half of the footwell.
I decided in Lloyd’s Berber 2 mats and ended up just using Lloyd’s template for the new Defender. They sent me images of their Defender templates and the sizes seemed good.
Below are pics of the new mats. They look great and they are excellent quality. The sizes of the mats are good (driver’s mat could actually be a bit longer and extend below the pedals) and they use the OEM clips to stay securely in place.
