@CincyRovers Ok, then there is an issue. I wish you luck in getting this resolved. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I’ve sometimes found when they give you the runaround, if there are other customers around, or better yet prospective buyers, raise your voice as needed. They don’t want the bad publicity.

I'm confident that my dealer will replace the armrest. They have significantly improved their service dept. in the last two years and I've never had to fight to get anything done since then. I'm willing to pay the difference to have a leather armrest installed in place of the neoprene one. The leather armrest is approximately $200 more than the neoprene.

Wish you the best on both issues, @CincyRovers . Always enjoy reading your informative posts. Please update us on the keyless entry as well. I would love to get that fixed on my new Defender. It's very annoying. Otherwise I really love it so far.

Will do! My service appt. is a week from today, and I will ask for the keyless entry TSB number so I can share that with everyone on here.
Update: my dealer is covering the console under warranty no questions asked. However, when I asked my parts guy if they could replace the neoprene console with a leather one with me paying the difference, it was a firm no. I was expecting that, and JLR won't cover it under warranty unless they replace the console with the exact same part that the car was specced with. The updated wiring harness overlay for the keyless entry has been installed, and they are just waiting for the new console to arrive. Should have my car back by the end of the week or early next.
Finally got my car back after nearly two weeks of waiting for parts. Like I mentioned, the dealer replaced it under warranty no problem. The new armrest appears to be higher quality than my old one. The neoprene surface is definitely glued or adhered better to the foam underneath compared to my old one. Fingers crossed this one holds up longer!
