Default CHEQUER PLATE WHEEL ARCH TRIM KIT pics?

I have used the search and once again failed miserably. I'm sure my answer lies amongst the wisdom of this forum but it escapes me.

Does anyone have pictures of the Checker Plate Wheel Arch Trim kit on their truck?

Thank you
Matt

I don't have pics -- but I have a brand new set for a 110 if you want to buy them! (I ended up having my entire sides of the car PPF'd... so didn't need these). I did see this one on Autotrader the other day in my searches for 110 X's....

Here's a photo on my p300 S. I'm really happy with how they turned out.

So, is this an alternative to the actual wheel arches? You use on or the other? Is it functionable or just for looks? I might go this route in case there is real protection in trails, since not a fan of the wheel arches.

It is one or the other for the wheel arches:

Yes, I see where it says it will not fit with the wheel arch extensions, but looks like if they were trimmed to stop at the extended wheel arches, you could have both? Not sure how that would look but...

Regarding 'functionality"... they are plastic, but they ended up doing a nice job of blocking debris (rocks, pebbles, etc.) that get kicked up and hitting that part of the vehicle. I bought them because i thought they looked cool, but I've realized that the plastic is much more resilient than the paint that would probably have chips in it by now.

Also -- I just realized (looking at my photo above)... the plastic protects the flared area of the fenders. The flares stick out 1-2" wider than the vehicle, so if there was branches, etc. that you might brush with the car, the plastic would take the damage instead of paint.

The install was easy - go slow, and ideally have someone else help you pull the tapes so it doesn't slip when adhering to the vehicle surface.

Functionally identical covers are available on aliexpress if you feel like taking the chance. I was thinking of picking some up and then trimming them to work with my extended wheel arches.

My experience has been that the extruded plastic parts available on the grey market are identical in every way to the JLR stuff and may even come from the same moulds / manufacturers - it's fairly common in China for a portion of the line to be diverted for factory door sales or listing on aliexpress.
