This is why I was asking for pictures....
Other LR's have it. Evoque, Disco Sport...

Seems like it would settle the matter pretty quickly with them.

Here is why: the pictures here are the "clear" view review mirror, the mighty digital one.
And it is not good at all.

Here are few more details:
- I did clear the lens
- no, it was not fog outside
- during the day the quality is better, almost "clear"

So, overall ... at night it sucks ! basically unusable for me.
What is your experience ? have you any pictures you would like to share ?
Thank you in advance.
I took these on the way home from dinner tonight for you to compare.

I was driving in the dark last evening, and I'd say sometimes my Clearview looks like Kev M's photos, and sometimes they look like the washed out ones. I think it is normal for the mirror. The only time mine looked blurry / washed out was if there were a lot of headlights behind me, and I don't think you can avoid that - since it's a camera lens in the back, you're going to get some flare at times. I haven't really noticed it or considered it unusual or bothersome. In daylight or when there aren't a lot of headlights behind, it's very clear.

Thank you so much for the pictures. Really appreciate the help.
What I see here (on the 110 and possible 90s) is that the quality of the camera is pretty crappy. I mean, for a vehicle at this price, one would not expect to have such a bad quality.
The back up camera, in the same lighting conditions, does a great job, and the picture on the big screen is outstanding. "Clearview" - not so clear.
I am probably going to see if I can buy a camera set from a wrecked vehicle (top fin, module, and mirror ) and test it (or modify it !). Is it the "mirror" itself, the camera in the top fin, or the whole module ? My money is on the camera itself - but I need to catch one on eBay so I can test it. Once I get the results, I will post them here, but that may take time, as those modules sell like hot cake ( I wonder why ! )
Again, thanks for the pictures, and if anyone has more, I guess the better. This may serve as a reference point for others - whomever may encounter this issue.

@Mechano2020 - That gives me an idea. Anyone have recommendations on where to get wrecked vehicle parts? Yes, this is the internet. I accept that I'm going to get a lot of WTF?? Yes, I know that they are hit or miss. So are brand new parts. I've put on three thermostats before (new in box) that were malfunctioning before I touched them. So anything is possible. Also, I can get 3-4 used parts until one works cheaper (and easier) than going to the Dealer. If I don't care about the part, I don't mind getting them salvaged. I care about part = 2 categories: making the car go, making the car stop. I don't know who I picked that phrase up from, but I love it.

Anyway, I know about:
- partslinkent.com/

Anyone know of any others out there? The more I look at the CRAZY costs that Defenders are going for at Copart, the more I realize that there are likely many more out there.

https://huntforparts.com/shop/landro...ed-auto-parts/

Never tried it but could be worth it for the camera fin.

Yes, finding parts for this will be a nightmare. Even for a dealer .
But I take this as a case study project. Is sort of working (daytime) and is not like I have a lot of a choice; I want to see if I can do any improvement whatsoever. I am sure there are ways, just need to see how expensive it gets.
Parts....I spoke with Part Link ppl over the phone. They told me that when they get one of those "clear" mirrors, they fly off the shelves in hours.
Doing an analogy between a cheap phone (and night pictures samples) ... like 2007-2008 phones, and this camera on the Defender, it leads me to believe more and more that there is camera itself issue.
LR cheaped on this camera big time.
However, I am digging to see where can I get a camera set for this.
And, there is nothing wrong with used parts - as long as they work.
